There are so, so many reviews out there already so I'll keep mine short: the HD600 are great natural sounding headphones and the Bottlehead Crack (w/ Speedball) is an amazing amp with a spacious, energetic and vibrant presentation.
How hard is it to build Bottlehead Crack (w/ Speedball)?
Hi, I've finally decided that I'm going to get the HD650, so I've been looking at amps and I see a lot of people recommending and using the Bottlehead Crack. I'm a junior electrical engineer so I'm familiar with circuits and (somewhat) with soldering. Also my university provides free irons and solder for us to use, so I already have the materials. You think it would be out of my reach? Also, if I do get it, what DAC would go well with it?

A beautifully assembled Bottlehead Crack OTL Headphone amp. This one has the following upgrades: Speedball, Braided Power Cord, Tung-sol 6080 & Telefunken ECC82 (12AU7) tubes. I'll also throw in the stock tubes as well. Sounds incredible with high impedance, hard to drive headphones like the Sennheiser HD600 or HD650. The unassembled kit with these upgrades is over $500 from Bottlehead. The Tung-Sol and Telefunken tubes are worth almost $200 alone. And the best part is you don't have to build it. Shipping is free!
